Sciatica: causes and treatment

Posted Nov 08 2010 12:51pm

If you’ve had sciatica you know that it is no fun. I’ve had terrible sciatica before and understand how bad it can hurt. If you google sciatica and look at the causes of sciatica you will usually see a list like this:

  • Spinal disc herniation
  • Stenosis
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Degenerative disk disease
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Pelvic injury or fracture
  • Tumors

When you go to see your doctor after a health history and physical exam they will often send your for some tests to find the cause of your pain. These might include a x-ray, MRI, or CT scan. Then your doctor will tell your which of the above is causing your pain.

But what caused the disc herniation , stenosis , or degenerative disc disease ?

Wouldn’t that be the question to ask?

Don’t you want a treatment that addresses the underlying cause and not just the symptom?

I certainly did. And it worked for me. From level 10 pain where I could not sit, stand, sleep, lay on my back, or move without excruciating pain to being completely pain free and able to be as active as I want all without drugs, surgery or manipulation.

Read this article about one of the underlying causes of sciatica and then look at this article about what you can do to treat the underlying cause.

You can hear what some of our clients have had to say about sciatica and Egoscue on youtube .

Let me know your experience and if you found relief from using these exercises to correct your posture. I’d love to hear from you.
