I am 52 yrs old and for the past several months (almost 1 yr.) I have had severe swelling of my feet & ankles, it never goes down even when I get up in the morning they are swollen. It is getting to the point that I am having issues walking. I am somewhat over weight but not that much to effect this issue. I have also had shortness of breath for quite a while, on and off. Some days it is so bad I can't climb a flight of stairs or walk from the car into the house unless I am gasping for breath. Other days I can work and work and not have an issue with breathing.
I had major back surgery almost 4 yrs ago, which was quite detailed, several hours in surgery and 3 surgeons, due to where the damage was, a rib had to be removed and used as a bone graft. The heart & liver was moved during the surgery, etc. during the surgery we was told (much later) that they had accidental punchered the lung. I have had several CT's and MRI's since then to check the healing and they have discovered a nodule in the lung. They were quite concerned at first since I have lost 3 siblins to lung cancer. But the nodule has not grown at all since it was found, so the doctor tells me that he feels it may be scar tissue or something else for me not to worry but we will continue to watch it yearly.
I'm sorry I do worry and I get so mad and upset that I can't hardly get a breath and the swelling all the time has gotten to the point that I have issues moving around. This is very upsetting. Iwant to get well and be able to live and enjoy the remainder of my life......
If there is anyone out there that may have an idea what could be my problem and what I may ask the doctor to test me for I would greatly appreciate it very much.
