For about two weeks, I have suffered from horrible aches in my legs, from my hips down my thighs, my knee caps, the sides and fronts of my calves/shins, my ankles, and the tops of my feet. Its dull aches that sometimes become piercing pain in one area. I have also had extreme fatigue and headaches. I have been fighting staph infections for a few months, could this have anything to do with my sypmptoms? I have not changed anything in my routine, and am not running a fever. Originally the Dr. told me my levels of Epstein Barr virus were very high in my blood (I had mono about a year ago). But, this feels nothing like that did. I demanded more blood work and it showed a strep infection in my blood. Her theory is that maybe I had strep once and the meds didn't completely get rid of it, because I am allergic to the normally prescribed pennicillin. Her nurse is the one who called to tell me this, and did not tell me what type of strep it was. Could this be caused by the staph? I had an open sore about 2-3 weeks ago near my thigh area. She prescribed 500 mg/4 times a day of Cephalexin (substitute for Keflex), for 7 days. Also, paid meds. But everything I have read about strep in your blood sounds so serious, and I have no swollen lymph nodes, no no fever, etc.. So what do you think? PS: I am a 21 y/o female, pretty healthy besides the mono last year and the staph infection recently. Also, I have a history of strep/tonsilitis ( i need my tonsils taken out but haven't yet).
