No Disrespect, But What is God Doing With This Body?

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. (Psalm 139:14-15)
I have to admit that I often wonder how I ended up with this body that, is so very unique, and as I get older seems to have more and more defective parts. So far, I have a one-in-a-million heart defect which requires a pacemaker, colon cancer at a rare early age, a digestive system that hates all foods, and lots of allergies to top off this quirky body.
But here in God’s Word He tells me that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made.” He speaks truth to me, telling me I was woven together by Him, and though when I was yet to be formed, He knew and ordained all the days of my life, ready to love me and put my name in His precious Book of Life.
Though at times I admit I become frustrated with this body that I have with all its issues, I gain peace, comfort, and joy knowing that I’m exactly as I should be. God created you and me just as we are for His purposes, even if all the parts don’t work exactly right! I am thankful when God see me, He sees who I am in Him, and the person He created me to be, to serve what ever purposes He desires.
Prayer: Father as I go though this day, let me remember that this body no matter how many issues it has, it is fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank You that Your love is enough to produce joy, peace, and compassion for others who also need to hear Your truth today. And that they too can be written in Your Book of Life. Amen.
