Lisa Starts Working with a Life Coach – Video Series
Posted Oct 11 2010 2:36pm
I’ve always wondered what it would be like to work with a “life coach.” My personality is to “get things done” (though I also procrastinate on some things. . . you can ask my mother!)
But the idea of paying someone to tell me what I already knew I ought to be doing, well, let’s just say it wasn’t really appealing. On the flip side, I knew the accountability could be a very good thing. It has been many years since I have been “forced” to sit down and take the time to look at my hopes and dreams and truly listen to what God was saying.
Last June Mary Yerkes, a certified Christian life coach (who also lives with rheumatoid arthritis like myself) asked if I would be interested in her services. I took the plunge, but . . .I delayed that plunge until late September. I wanted to get through and some other events, so we put it on the calendar. That date was truly God-ordained.
Life has been complicated lately. I can’t go into details, but let’s just say God knew I would need this NOW.
I have decided to put together what some call a vlog (“video blog”) on my experience of being “coached.”
Below you will find the first video and the next 3 will be posted in the coming days and then I will be caught up and upload two per week throughout the process.
I hope this gives you a glimpse into what the coaching experience is like, how it can help, and what purpose it serves. If you have been considering the benefits (or drawbacks) of having a life coach, maybe I can at least show you my journey throughout the process.
To find out more about Mary Yerkes and her services you can visit her web site at www.newlifechristiancoaching.com . Mary has me to promote her services and there is no obligation for me to do so. I just want you to know who my coach is and that I trust her integrity and professional services, as well as call her a friend.
