Jack Nicklaus and his dedication to Egoscue

Posted Mar 28 2011 1:13pm

Jack Nicklaus, the legendary golfer, first met Pete Egoscue in 1988. Here is the way Jack tells the story in the forward he wrote for Pete Egoscue’s first book, The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion :

“I put myself in Pete’s hands after enduring several years of increasing amounts of pain, discomfort, and restricted movement caused by deteriorated disks in my lower back.

“I was told by several doctors that unless I had either a discectomy or a discectomy plus a fusion, I probably would never play golf successfully again. I obviously did not want to accept the discision of surgery until I had exhausted all possible avenues of recovery.”

Jack Nicklaus believed in the Egoscue Method and felt such amazing results he has only missed 1 day of his menu since 1988! Here’s the way he describes it on the back cover of Pete’s book Pain Free :

“Pete Egoscue has totally changed my life. Never have I experienced such complete pain relief as I have following the Egoscue Method.”

Jack Nicklaus has felt what Egoscue can do for the body, not just pain relief, but improved function, mobility and balance, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your body is not broken but instead a resilient organism capable of recovery. Again Jack speaking in the forward to the book The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion :

“The Egoscue Method ‘jumps starts’ the body again, and that’s why it feels good even if you’ve never had a back spasm in your life. With the help of the Egoscue Method, we can all look forward to feeling better and performing better at whatever we do.”

Jack Nicklaus understands that our health and wellness begins when we are young and if we can keep our youth active, strong, flexible, and help them find and keep the love of exercise they will grow up to be active healthy adults. The Egoscue Foundation is dedicated to helping kids get active and stay active and one of their most successful programs is the Patch Project Initiative where they donate Patch obstacle courses to schools and youth organizations. The Honda Classic has been a major source of donates through their Birdies for Children program.

In this video Jill Huerta the Egoscue Foundation Director talks with Shawn and Jessalynn Taker and Jon Stanton of Egoscue Palm Beach Gardens and Jack Nicklaus.
