I have heterotopic bone formation and constant pain after I severely injured my shoulder. What is your view on further surgery?

On April 18, 2008 I fell and severely injured my left shoulder. When I fell, the ball of the shoulder popped out, and shattered in 4 pieces. I also tore up my rotator cuff, and dislocated my shoulder too. In the ER, the doctor put my shoulder back in place. On April 29, 2008 I had a total shoulder replacement, and the doctor repaired my rotator cuff. I'm in constant pain since I fell, and nothing relieves the pain, including ice packs, heat packs, medicine, linaments, physical therapy, or home exercises. Now it has been almost a year with no substantial improvement in my shoulder or arm. I have complications of heterotopic bone formation, adhesive capsulitis, and swollen scar tissue. along with the constant pain. My doctor does not want to operate again, because of the risks involved with the nerves, etc. What is your view on further surgery to correct these complications?

Sincerely,

Virginia
