I beleive I cracked a rib. The pain is my chest, left side

I was doing an exerice on the floor for my knee. I reached over with my right hand to get a piece of paper from the table. I heard a crack on my left side in the upper chest area. The pain is bad. This is the fifth day of pain. Is this going to take time to heal like a cracked rib? Should I see my doctor and get an xray?
