Hve you ever heard of anyone experiencing trigeminal neuropathy after a brow lift? I have the symptoms (for 3 years) but cannot

Posted by katie

I had an anterior browlift April 2007. Since then I have been experiencing numbness and pulling in the crown of my head, forehead and temple areas.  Worsens when I am exposed to cold, heat, wind (weather)and hot. Laser two years ago stopped the constant prickly, tingling sensations. Some days my head feels like to weighs a hundred pounds. I have seen a neurologist, neurosurgeon, pain management doctor and chiropractor. Are there any tests to pinpoint the damage. Knowing that might help find a treatment that will work. Any physician who specializes in this type of nerve damage. Is this a normal risk of a browlift? I am having difficulty finding any concrete information in this area.

Oh boy, no I haven't but I do suffer from Trigeminal Neuralgia myself and understand what you must be going through!  I'm copying a link here for you that may help explain this,

I've seen specialists as well, one option for very advanced cases is surgery at the brain stem and the other option presented to me was medication. Interestingly the medication that was found most beneficial was one used as a treatment for epilepsy.  I chose not to use this and quite simply suffer through the pain when it flares up. Mine seems to come sporadically for days/weeks at a time and is thankfully not constant every day throughout the year.

Good luck! Mary
