I have not been able to sleep in bed for some time....every time I do sleep in a bed I experience hip pain on my right side, which is the only side that I am able to sleep comfortably. It does not happen on my left side, but am not able to sleep on that side comfortably.
See a rheumatologist if possible. You might have bursitis of the greater trochanter (the big end of the thigh bone fitting into the hip area)...I have it on both sides...hard tp sleep. Steroid injections into the area help a lot. I also use Lidoderm patches to help on bad nights but use these carefully. Oral pills never helped me. Good luck.
Sounds like hip bursitis to me. I have it on both sides too and its time for another round of steriod shots. These hurt and I can't walk for a few days very well and without pain, but afterwords, its like I never had it at all. Lasts for up to 12 months for me - the injections that is.
