“But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.” (Hosea 12:6)
For me, it’s so easy to fall out of line with God’s truth. I stop doing my quiet time, I stop praying, and I stop hearing God. I start to worry and be afraid. I am then standing on sinking sand.
Hosea says I must return to my God. This verse struck my heart today. I have not been being a very faithful Christian. My Husband, Jesus, has not been the apple of my eye. I have not waited for Him. I have pressed on in my own strength, and so, of course, my walls have come tumbling down.
Today, I choose to return to my God, to maintain love and justice (and mercy), and wait for my God always.
What about you? Like me, have you fallen away? Has the pain been so bad that you can’t even focus on God? Return to His Word. Love justice and mercy (mercy triumphs over judgment. . . it says so in James). Don’t let the tidal wave of grief and pain overflow you – we have an awesome God! Wait for your God always! He will not disappoint.
Prayer: Dear God, We have fallen away from You. We lay ourselves before You and will wait for You always. You are our King, our Lord, our Savior. We come back humbly before You and ask You to use us for Your glory, Your praise, to show Your love. Please help us. We are but dust, and can do nothing without You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
