I've had bursitis for over 3 years in both of my hips. I've tried everything that I know of. I've had xrays, MRI, corisone shots, 800 mg ibruproben, exercises, ice packs. So far nothing seems to work and it's very frustrating. I have trouble standing for long periods, sitting for long periods, going up and down stairs and getting up from a sitting position. The xrays didn't indicate any arthritis so I guess I'm fortunate. Things could always be worse. I don't have any trouble walking which is a blessing. Ice packs seem to help more than anything and water exercises. I have had PT twice and seen 2 ortho doctors (one at Mayo). I have scoliois but neither thought that was the cause. I wear a lift in one shoe. Mayo thought I had a muscle weekness in the muscles in my inner thighs. I have been doing the exercises that they told me to do but so far no relief. It started after a trip to Rome and walking on cobblestones. I previously played team tennis. Neither doctor said to rest but I've read that on this website. But I do a lot of that. I'd sure like to get rid of this constant discomfort and be able to be more active again and be able to go up stairs without pulling myself up. Thanks.
