There is new evidence and research coming out all the time that is reinforcing how good exercise is for our bodies and our brains. An article was published by the BBC yesterday that points out how exercise increases blood flow to the brain thus increasing the amount of oxygen reaching the brain thus improving cognition. They also said students who participated in sports and physical activity were better more disciplined and better able to concentrate which helped translate into better grades in the classroom. The researches also pointed out that exercise probably helps reduce stress and improve mood helping children behave better in school also.
