Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

Posted May 10 2009 10:03pm

With help from a kind friend, I have found an online compounding pharmacy. She also recommended her lovely compounding pharmacy. However, I found it very difficult to deal if they don’t use email. So I had to pass for now, although it was very tempting. Her friend uses the online pharmacy and is happy with their service and price. They responded quickly to my email enquiry and their price seemed to be reasonable. Later, I received a couple of quotes, and the online pharmacy happened to be the cheapest. I’ve posted the prescription on Wednesday, and am hoping to receive them sometime this week.

Dr TL asked if the online pharmacy is in overseas. His concern was that the quality of medicine could be tarnished if it is transported by air. The temperature in the airplane can be between -2 °C and 70 °C or 28 °F and 158 °F. As you can see, these are outside of recommended storage temperature. He gave me example that people ordering Viagra from overseas pharmacy and get very disappointed when it doesn’t work… I assured him that I don’t need to worry about Viagra. :-p

The LDN I ordered will be delivered by a truck. Considering their temperature in the truck would get hot especially during the summer time, I might consider finding the pharmacy closer to where I live in the future. My hope is that the treatment will work for me and I could actually drive to the closest one to pick it up once a month.

I will report again when I received the LDN.
