Hey People,

Life with a dog has so far been great fun! I think it is probably the best decision I have ever made! He has settled in so well, and he is such a well behaved dog. I love him so much already. He follows me everywhere, and I haven't had time to even think about my illness. My first thought on waking up is Iggy and bringing him for a walk. The very excited greeting I get when I open the bedroom door really lights up the heart; a great start to any day no matter how bad I'm feeling.

Yes it has been hard and after the first few days I crashed and I had to have mainly bed rest. But even then I would get up to walk him for 20 minutes and then come back home and have bed rest for the day. Am I able for walking him twice a day like I had intended? No, not quite :-) But my husband enjoys bring him for a long walk every afternoon for some male bonding :-) At night I bring him for a quick five minute walk outside for the toilet.

As you will see in the photos he is settling very well into the rythme of the  life of someone with chronic fatigue :-)

I would advise anyone at my level to get a dog. However, I don't think I would be able for him on my own, as I do rely on my husband to walk him once a day. I think it says something very positive about my recovery that I felt like getting a dog now. Four months ago I wouldn't have contemplated it. I still have a lot of issues with my health, but I feel this little man is an important part of my recovery.
That's all for now!
I hope you are all ok...
Treya :-) xx
