Coughing is NOT a typical symptom of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I don't think you have CFS.
Coughing can be caused by a number of different sources, though, and it's important not to give up on finding an answer. You need to persist with your doctor in trying to find the cause. if your regular doctor doesn't know or isn't interested in investigating further, then you should find another doctor. You might try an Infectious Disease specialist, since coughing can be associated with various infections or just another family doctor or internist.
Something is causing this problem and it is disrupting your life. I know how hard it is to persist when your doctor doesn't know what's going on, but it is important. It took me a full year of seeing dozens of doctors before my illness was correctly diagnosed as CFS. I know of many other people with similar stories, some of whom spent 5 or 10 years getting an accurate diagnosis. It's important to know what's causing the cough and to not just treat the symptom, so stick with it.
Good luck - I hope you find some answers soon.
