Candida/Yeast Infection Part 2

Posted Aug 21 2009 12:39pm
Hey People,

If you haven't read part 1 and would like to'Click here'. Anything below that is in orange is a link.

So where was I....... Ok so after my first stool sample which was a'comprehensive parasitology and fugal studies x 2'.I was told I had a very bad yeast infection in my intestine. I was told to eliminate all sugar from my diet and was put on the following medication:

Saccharomyces Boulardii- 2 capsules twice a day

"Saccharomyces Boulardii is a probiotic non-colonizing yeast species closely releated to Brewers yeast.  It is not related to yeast group to which Candida belongs.  Soon after supplementation, S. Boullardi "blooms" and quickly becomes established in the gut, where it can produce lactic acid and some B vitamins.

Extensive studies and clincal use show that S. Boullardi can:

Displace pathogenic yeast species, such as Candida, in the gut

Increase levesl of IgA

Support the establishment of friendly bacteria in the intestines

Supports nutrient absorption in the small intestinal mucosa"

Uva Ursi- 1 month - 2 at breakfast & 2 at supper

"The leaves of this small shrub have been used as an herbal folk medicine for centuries as a mild diuretic and astringent, and in the treatment of urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis and nephritis, pyelitis and in pyelonephritis. Uva-ursi can help to reduce accumulations of uric acid and relieve the pain of bladder stones. Uva Ursi is also helpful for chronic diarrhea. As a nutritional supplement and muscle relaxant, Uva Ursi soothes, strengthens, and tightens irritated and inflamed tissues".

Caprylic Acid
- 2 twice a day with meals. I'm on these all the time.
Click here for good information on caprylic acid.

Nystatin Powder
-  1/3 rd to half tea spoon three to four times a day (on prescription)

Ok so I think that was it for the first round of treatment. My stomach did improve slightly, but that was about it. Bad yeast infections can be very hard to kill off and each individual case is different. After I had my IV's which I talked about in
'Pin Cushion' post, my stomach improved a good bit and I started going to the toilet regularly once a day. However my second stool test showed that I still had a bad yeast infection and a bacteria infection. So this time I was put on all the above again plus,

Barberry/Berberis
- 1 month - 2 twice a day

Citricidal
- 15 drops twice a day

To help with proper absorption of food and vitamins and minerals I also take;

Digestive Enzyme Complex
- One jut before each of my main meals. I'm on these all the time.
Click here for information on importance

Betaine HCI
-
1 to 3 with meals. I'm on these all the time.

After my second stool sample results I really stepped up my anti-candida diet and got very strict. Saying this it makes me miserable trying to be 100% good so I go for 90%. It's very hard but I'm doing very well at it. I wasn't a big sugar person anyway. It's bread that I miss the most. There is lots of information out there on the internet about proper anti-candida diets and recipes also.

So my doctor has just got me to order my 3rd stool testing kit. I'm still going to the toilet once a day. However I still think I have yeast in my intestines as there is still quite a distinct smell when I go to the toilet. It is kind of toxic or metally.  So that's it. I shall have to wait to see what next stool results are. In the mean time I will keep up with my anti-candida diet.

That's all for now folks. I am wreeecked after that post......

Hope you're all well.
