Balance Acid-Alkaline Levels With pH Balance Diet For Health And Healing

Our bodies have a very delicate acid-base (pH) balance that has to be maintained in order to live. Anytime you get more acid in your bodily fluids and tissues you are outside of the balance your cells need to be healthy. The main cause of imbalance in pH is imbalance in the acid/alkaline foods you’re eating.

Over acidic diets lead to chronic illness, fatigue, and reduced life span. Most foods after being digested, absorbed, and metabolized, release acid or they release an alkaline base into blood. Foods that produce acid are grains, fish, meat, poultry, shellfish, cheese, milk, and salt. Too much acid in the body also strips it of minerals. So if you’re not balancing your diet with alkaline foods which are mainly vegetables and fruits, you can become fatigued and develop weak bones, joints and muscles, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and other health problems. Like other ways we think about balance, balancing work and play, balancing exertion with rest, balancing acid-alkaline in our bodies is also vital to our health!

It’s the cumulative effect of this imbalance in PH in your diet over time that’s affecting your health. We always hear that we have to eat a majority of plant food for all the antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals etc. but maintaining the proper pH in your diet is just another reason.

Processed foods are highly acidic and also lacking in fiber that is so important to help control blood sugar and to keep your GI tract, the center of your health universe healthy. The good bacteria in your GI tract also need fiber to maintain their health, so keep them healthy keeps your GI tract healthy and helps keep your immune system healthy.

To maintain proper pH then simply reduce the amount/serving sizes of acidic foods and increase the amount/serving sizes of greens and other alkaline plant foods in your diet/meals. And to make this an even better proposal, increasing alkaline foods (fruits and veggies) will also decrease the total number of calories consumed while you are reducing your intake of acid producing foods!

Add more alkaline foods in your diet by eating a big salad once or twice a day. Make sure to include green leafy vegetables, sprouts, broccoli, parsley, asparagus and peppers. See this list to better understand acid and base foods.

Besides fatigue and chronic illness people with more balanced alkaline bodies are also much more resistant to infection and cancer. Eating a regular pH balanced diet is the best way to continually detox from exposure to this toxic world we live in.

I always laugh when I hear nonsense like drinking coffee will help prevent this and that. Those studies are done by coffee drinking scientists who want to justify their addiction to this acid producing toxic beverage. Also the control subjects in studies like that aren't eating the diet that I recommend. If they were they would see enormous differences in the health of non-coffee drinking pH balanced diet people and those who guzzle coffee along with their Egg McMuffins, enough said!
