Why do my thighs hurt when I wake up?

Posted by Nana D. Facebook

I'm 17 years old, and just recently when I wake up my thighs will ache - just my thighs not my calves or knees or feet. I usually wake up early[5-6am] so I like to go back to sleep but my leg pain is so severe it keeps me up. They don't hurt when i get up only when I am sitting or laying down in the morning. They never hurt later in the day.

I tried stretching them out and looking for answers on the web but I havent found any that are very similar to myself [mostly because age and i'm not pregnant].

I'm on the birth control shot, and I actually have to go get a shot this week. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

My diet has been very poor lately as well... Choosing to eat small meals in the day [yesterday i ate 2 veggie corn dogs, maybe 2 or 3 cups of noodles and 2 slices of bread], not eating at all until the end of the day and eating a large meal, or not eating after 5pm then eating a large breakfast in the morning. Oh I'm also a peskatarian, so I don't eat meat other than fish -if you consider fish a meat that is.

I'm not sure if weight or height have anything to do with it, but I'm 5'6" and probably around 110lb, more or less.

Thank you for any answers!
