What might the swelling be a result of after a fall during soccer; contusion, organ damage, etc.

Female 12 yo fell during soccer. Overnight developed slight swelling just below left rib cage. No discoloration yet. Tender to touch lvl 5 of 10 pain to child. No bowel issues, pain is dull ache but sharp pain when touched.
