My grandaughter is 7 months old.She has experienced gallstones since birth. Her latest blood test showed som abnormally shaped red blood cells(jelly bean shaped)not many but Dr. is saying her organs are not recognizing them when they pass.A hemotoligist is not on staff where they live, and only comes once a month. The baby is not showing any illnesses or bruising, etc.Any idea what could cause this? She did spend a long time on antibiotics due to a reflux problem between her kidneys and bladder. That problem has been resolved.
Have you heard of hereditary Spherocytosis? Common symptoms of this are gall stones, jaundice, small red blood cells that become destroyed by the spleen, fatigue and some other symptoms. I would research that.
