Logan is sailing right along and it doing pretty darn good these days. Other than getting meds right and trying to convince him that eating and drinking are required we are hanging out in the hospital getting PT & OT. Logan is getting stronger every day and can shakily walk when supported and he can sit himself up in the crib. He is back to chattering all the time too.
Monday was MRI day to check his brain out to see if there was something that explained the seizures he had on ECMO. There were a few spots that were old clots, but nothing really spectacular that would let the Neurologists know for sure what happened. At this point they believe the seizures were just a result of how sick he was and the heavy medications. We will be following up with Neuro and slowing weaning from the seizure meds. Woohoo!
Today they decided to do a CT scan because the MRI showed an old small bleed on Logan's brain and they just wanted to make sure it wasn't growing. This most likely happened when he was on the Berlin or even during transplant surgery. Anyhow, it isn't growing (which means it isn't active) and the brain will absorb the blood over time.
I went to the pharmacy and picked up the first month of Logan's meds this afternoon. I'll take a picture to show it off tomorrow. I'm in charge of administering meds in the hospital right now to get the hang of it. Rumors have us going home on Thursday. We'll see!
