Swollen lymph nodes in neck.

Posted by kcynthia

My daughter - 11 keeps having swollen lymph nodes in her neck with no symptoms of her being sick (i.e. running a fever, feeling sick, being tired).

We went to an ENT and had them checked out and she does not have cancer.

She was given two doses of antibiotics and they went down but not away.

Now she has another lymph node in her neck, but on the other side and it is painful and swollen but again she does not have any symptoms.

Are you sure she does not have a cyst? They can present in the same way. I had one on my neck that was treated in the same way with antibiotics and each time it went away but as it came back each time it was more painful and larger. Finally they drained it twice before they finally did surgery to remove the pocket of the cyst. It was called a branchiall cleft cyst. Hope this helps.
