Steps to reach the stars

Posted Jul 06 2009 8:05pm
To get to any destination we must choose how we are going to get there, some may choose to walk, run, or even to drive if they are lucky. Once we arrive to where we wanted to go, we reflect on the journey and how we got there, were there many memories along the way, did we take our time and embrace the moments that happened along the way? I believe this helps put our destination into perspective, allowing us to appreciate the sweat, tears, and time it took us to get to our final destination. Making our journey more of a wondrous story of our life.

My destination right now it seems for so long now has been to help teach my son to walk. Quite often there are times we cry with each other, there are times we laugh, and also times when we get frustrated with each other. When I look at the days, weeks, months and years that have been put into each step, I continue to wonder if our destination is near. To reach our destination we have not been given any signs, time frames, or maps as to how to get there. I as his mother try to take this as a sign for us to bond now because we missed some important moments together while he was so ill. Time together; bonding, a mother teaching her son to walk because he means the world to her, and she knows he is able to touch the stars.

Our journey, our steps, such a beautiful movie reel in my mind. May I continue to have hope and faith in the unknown and may Gage continue to hold my hand and appreciate our steps to reach our destination. Not everyone gets to witness a shooting star, if they do, the moment lasts for a fleeting second, they often are left wondering if the beauty they witnessed was even real. My shooting star has graced me with seconds, and many moments, my star has allowed me to witness his beautiful array of colors everyday.

This mother is blessed.
Thank-You Gage.
