My son was born at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He has been diagnosed with Beckwith-Wiedmann Syndrome, which I know has risks of cancers. He has screenings every 2-3 months of the AFP levels and a complete abdominal ultrasound. There is no cancer in the kidneys, liver, spleen, stomach, bladder etc. But he has consistently had elevated AFP levels. His levels have consistently been elevated for over 1 year now. Right now they are only slightly elevated, but no one seems to know why. I wonder if something else is going on, that isn't serious like cancer, but that may need to be tended to.
