my symptoms swollen fingers, numbness and stiffness in the fingers and sharp pains through the lower arms. what could this be?

Please help me I have numb, swollen fingers that are stiff to point where I can not makes a fist or grasp simple things like a fork. I have sharp shooting pains through both arms and when I run my hand down the tops of my lower arms it feels as if someone were hitting my "funny bone" with a hammer! These bouts happen about 1-4 tmies a month and somethime more when I am working more hours cleaning houses. Nothing seems to help I have tried Alieve, Motrin, Biofreeze, Emu oil and wrist braces.
