Yumari is 7 (almost 8, her birthday is very close to B's) and she lives in Honduras with a sibling and her two parents. Her day to day responsibilities are helping out in the kitchen, running errands and cleaning. And, like a lot of little girls, she loves playing with dolls and riding her bike. At the time Chris decided to sponsor a child for me for Christmas, Yumari had been the child who had been waiting the longest to be sponsored.
So what happens when you sponsor a child? Well, you've probably heard on other blogs or on twitter that you can write to your child, receive letters from them and exchange pictures. But what does the first correspondence from Compassion look like?
You'll get an information packet on your child, and it tells you a little bit about them, the area they live in and their family life. You'll also receive information on communicating with your child, how Compassion works and a dvd that you can share with others.
