low+libido+and+oral+contraceptives

Posted by Sheri K

I'm almost 45 y/o.  I have no libido...not decreased--none. This is not good when your husband want sex almost every day. I was on the pill for 15 years and did NOT get my libido back after going off. Now after 10 years, I had to go back on it due to pain from ovarian cysts--no other options apparently.  I tried to discuss a possible hormonal imbalance w/ my OB doctor several times but feel shrugged off.  Also have irritability/moodiness and family members prone to depression. HELP!  What can I do?

May I strongly suggest you see a doctor who specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement? Low libido is very common in menopausal aged women. It's due largely because your hormones are rapidly falling off. Bio-identical hormones, particularly bio-identical testosterone replacement for females, can make a HUGE difference in your libido and other issues you're having.  A great book on this is "Breakthrough" by Suzanne Somers, or "How to Achieve Healthy Aging," by Dr. Neal Rouzier. The problems you're having can easily be remedied, but most doctors don't want to deal with this. Go to a hormone specialist. I don't know where you live, but I do know Dr. Rouzier sees people from all over the country.  Good luck. You don't need to put up with this situation.
