Last Night.

Posted Nov 07 2009 10:01pm
Stella has been having some trouble sleeping on and off for the past week or so. Maybe two. Who can remember with a fuzzy, sleep deprived brain. At any rate, it's been consistent for the past 3 nights, last night being the worst. She wouldn't go to sleep. At first we were chalking this up to teeth {she's currently getting either 3 or 4, no one can get a clear read nor does anyone want to risk losing a finger to check}. Now we're thinking it may be poop related. As in, not enough poop. We're loading her up with the Miralax and hoping for the best.

Back to the point. Last night she was having none of it. We'd rock her, she'd fall asleep, we'd put her down and she'd either wake right back up or would wake up within 30 minutes or so. Around 9:30 I decided I would take one for the team and just go to bed with her {in our bed}. Well, she thought that was just full on party time. Normally I am the heavy. The one who is the "you've got to go to sleep right now" person. Last night, though, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Even with her red rimmed eyes and bright red cheeks. She was just having too much fun. She laid in the crook of my arm and played peek-a-boo with the sheets. Followed by big time giggles. She pointed at my nose about 50 thousand times and said her version of "nose", followed by big time giggles. I was reading my book, which was making me laugh to the point of crying, and there she was, laughing right along side me. Because, yanno, she thought that book was damn funny too. It was a blast!

I finally laid down the law and turned out the light around 10. She took this a sign that now was the time to crawl all over the bed. We had a little talk about it being sleeping time and that she could either sleep here or in her crib. She showed me she wanted to sleep in her crib by continuing to crawl all over me. So, off to bed we went. And she went right to sleep. You know, only two and a half hours after bed time.

I'm crossing my fingers that we get some catch up sleep and a good poop today. But I am glad I got to party with my gal last night.
