Would you like to know some very simple things that you can do to help your child not become obese? Start simple by removing soda from your home. Soda has lots of sugar in it and it also has products that leach vital minerals from your child's bones.
Next limit the amount of juice that your child drinks. No more than 4 oz of all natural juice per day. If you would like you can mix this with water. If your child will drink nothing but juice then slowly start diluting it with water and over time add more water than juice. You can do it!
Limit the amount of TV your child watches. A child less than 2 years of age should not watch TV according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Children older than 2 years should have less than 2 hours of screen time per day. Start cutting back the screen time by 1/2 hour per week to the goal of less than 2 hours per day
Get your child moving. Exercise for children and teens is huge. Lack of exercise is one of the most contributing factors to childhood obesity. Have fun with it, allow them to play.
