Hi. I have an 11 year old son who was hit in the head with a baseball from a pitching machine almost 3 years ago. A large bump

A large bump developed and is still there, though not as big as it was at the time of the injury.  He's very sensitive about it and gets teased in school.  I've been considering surgery to remove but wanted to know are there any other ways to reduce this bump?
