Fight Against Child Obesity Rises To The Next Level

Michelle Obama has taken on the fight against childhood obesity and made it her own personal mission. Her efforts, and the efforts of other influential people, are starting to pay off. Disney recently announced that they will be monitoring which food ads are aired on their television channels, radio stations, and websites. And they mean business.

Not only will Disney be banning advertisements for junk foods and fast food, but they are going to only advertise foods that meet their nutritional guidelines. These guidelines are very strict. For example, any cereal with more than ten grams of sugar per serving will no longer be aired. Foods with too much sodium like Lunchables will also be banned. Even drinks like Capri Sun will no longer be advertised, due to added sugars in the drink.
