Doctor Teaches Patients How To Lose Their Memory

Posted Jul 11 2014 7:00pm

brainthinking How could it be? Why would a doctor do that? Dr. Sandeep Grewal is advocating 100 ways to lose your brainpower. He even wrote a book ‘Dementia Express: Lose Your Memory in 100 Ways’ which is ever more popular among his patients. But are they really losing their memory reading this book?

“Human mind is tricky,” says Dr. Grewal “It pays more attention to negative suggestions than positive ones. So why not use a bad advice to drill in a health concept into people’s mind. Once the concept is understood, the right thing to do is so obvious.” Dr. Grewal has written his book ‘Dementia Express: Lose Your Memory in 100 Ways’ in a negative way to remind people how they lose their memory and brain efficiency. And to boost one’s brain all they have to do is to do the reverse. “It is negative feedback that produces positive results.” He laughs.

Here are few tips from his memory book on how to lose one’s memory.

1. Don’t socialize. Just stay aloof and that will help slow down the brain

2. Use calculators and GPS all the time. So the brain loses its sense of calculations and direction.

3. Never use stairs and always use elevators. After all why does the brain need to balance and coordinate the steps every time?

4. Shy away from challenging projects. What is the point in stressing the brain?

5. Never try a new dish in a restaurant. Don’t take that risk and let the brain experience the mundane – the usual favorite item.

‘Dementia Express’ is full of humorous anecdotes and bad advice that does a lot of good. It is a must read for anyone who wants to improve their memory and brain health. The book is available in most major bookstores online and on Amazon.

Dr. Sandeep Grewal is a board certified primary care physician in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He is recipient of several awards including ‘Innovator in Healthcare’ by Charlotte Business Journal and also listed as Charlotte’s 40 under 40 in 2013. He has appeared in several television and radio shows including PBS.
