Child Obesity Can Have Serious Consequences

From The PantaGraph…..

Child obesity is becoming an increasingly dangerous trend in America. A plethora of diseases are being linked to child obesity such as Type 1 diabetes and heart disease.

If we don’t do something about this generation’s obesity, what will happen to the next one? Will they be bigger than mine or will they be more active than lackadaisical? According to www.heart.org, one in three kids and teens is overweight or obese. That is nearly triple the rate in 1963.

A total of 13,000 young people are diagnosed with diabetes annually. That number is constantly increasing. We see shows about obese adults deciding that it’s time they start turning their life around and make healthy decisions but, more people get sucked into the drama of the reality TV than the health tips.

I feel that with all of the advancements in technology, it is becoming a whole lot easier to become obese. Also at McDonald’s and some other fast food restaurants, you can get a burger for $1 but a salad costs $4.87. Who knows what technology will be like in the next 20 years, or how much a salad will cost then, but it won’t be cheap.
