My 4 year old daughter, that over night grew a golf ball size lump on the indise of her knee. We had x-rays taken-not bone. The pediattrician wants to send us to an Orthopedic Specialist. It doesn't affect her in any way. She can run, jump, skip, hop with no pain. However, she thinks she is growing more lumps as she has discovered her wrist and ankle bones....Smile I have searched online, but have found no answers. Hope someone out there has heard of this. Thanks.
I don't have any answers for you, but my 19 month old son is experiencing the same thing. His knee also swelled to the size of a golf ball, and the only injury to the knee I noticed was a 1/2 inch scratch that was beginning to heal. The Dr originally thought it was an infection, and prescribed antibiotics. The antibiotics helped, but it didn't completely go down. So now we are being referred to a Children's Orthopedic Specialist. I just called and they were going to see how soon they could get me in. I'm sure it's nothing major, but I will still be worried until we see the specialist. Good Luck!
