My 3 yr. old grandson presented a rash on buttocks 3 weeks ago. Dr. diagnosed it as staph gave antibiotics rash did not get better spread to genital area. He was taken back to Dr. , rash was reswabbed and rediagnosed as e. coli, he was prescibed different antibiotics, but rash is not abating, he now is presenting a yeast infection. Parents and I are very concerned that w/ the misdiagnosis he was given wrong antibiotics, and the e. coli is resistant to all that he has been given. Also with the large amount of antibiotics taken we feel his intestinal flora has been wiped out!!!!! (yeast infection). Please advise our next step! Also is there anything other than antibiotics that can be used to get rid of the rash, parents will be giving him some probiotics starting 9/22. Hopefully there is something alternative they can try rather than the standard "western meds" Thank you so much for your help and advice!!!
