So I never got around to telling everyone about the weekend! Friday night I came home from work with every intention of going to dance class with the Peanut. But I had one problem. I couldn't put my foot down on the floor with out feeling this searing pain go up the back of my leg. Behind my knee felt like a glob of jelly and my knee cap was cracking whenever I sat down or got up. I was limping around like an old man and when I got to my house I decided I had enough. No dancing on Friday night.
The two classes I would have taken would have been rumba and jive. Rumba maybe would have been ok, but Jive? I would have killed myself.
At any rate, I stayed home. Taste Tester was home too- he has his Peanut with him. We both just watched movies and hung out. I was asleep before 10. What a life I tell you!
On Saturday it was an equally lazy day. The Peanut went to her Nana's house to go apple picking with her Nana and her Aunties and Uncles. So what was I to do? I don't have a car. I was bored. Taste Tester wasn't around. I decided to put my knee to the ultimate test. I walked to Hannafords and Target!
It is about 2 miles away. What exactly was I thinking, walking on a busted knee? For some reason I really felt this URGE to walk off the pain. So I got my walking sneakers on and left. About halfway there I considered turning around. Calling my dad to come and get me. But I stuck it out and made it there. It was damn cold, but ok.
I bought only what I could fit in my little grocery store bag and left.
I walked all the way home, crossing my fingers my instincts were right. I needed to walk off the pain. Just keep walking.. just keep walking..(like in Finding Nemo!)
I got home and literally stumbled in the door like a drunkard fool. My legs felt like jelly. I took some Tylenol and rested. Later on, Taste Tester came and picked me up and brought me back to the apartment. I made dinner, we watched the game. I asked for a massage, he didn't give me one. I ended up giving him one. Nothing new there. HA! I love him anyway.
The next morning we got up and what do you know? Knee pain on the back burner! My knee was a little stiff but it felt overall about 100 times better than the day before. I don't know what it was.. whether it was the tough love I gave it by walking 4 miles on it or the fact that I was laying on the couch for four hours and then had a good night's sleep..
What gives? Mystery knee pain? My dad is suggesting I get it looked at to make sure I haven't done any damage. Here's hoping I can still dance! I don't have a car still- so no dance class this week! Hopefully next week I can get back in there!
