Touches of Fall and Gluten Free Apple Crisp

Posted Oct 17 2010 6:01pm
Today's weather was perfect for apple picking. We headed a little over an hour West into the Virginia countryside. The apple orchard was picturesque on this beautiful fall day.
  • Preheat oven to 350*
  • Cut apples into small pieces (I didn't skin them - it takes so much time without proper tools)
  • Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray (evoo spray works great)
  • Add apples to the pan
  • In a bowl, combine the following ingredients:
    • 1/2 cups of gf oats
    • 1/2 cups of gluten free all purpose baking flour
    • 2/3 cups of packed brown sugar
    • 4 tbsp of melted butter
    • 1 tsp of cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
  • Spread the topping over the apples and pack it down
  • Cook for 30-40 mins

Serve with vanilla ice cream:

It was amaaaaaaazing! Tasted just like grandma's.

Also, my apartment is now sprinkled with touches of fall... I just love this time of year. Pumpkin spice candles and some goodies that I found at the Target 1-spot.
