The BEST Gluten Free Sweet Treat–and a GIVEAWAY!

Posted Jan 11 2013 9:26am

Giant chocolate chip cookies – Heart shaped Pizzas – Chocolate Éclairs – Boxes of Chocolates – Cupcakes – Heart shaped Cookies – Candy Candy Candy

^^ That’s what Valentine’s Day used to be for me. My boyfriends would shower me with treats and I would eat them up! Even Parrish surprised me with a heart-shaped pizza the first year we dated.

Since going gluten free, I started my own tradition of sorts of Valentine’s Day. I would make my own gluten free cupcakes or brownies to commemorate the special day.
I’m not so sure I like that tradition, but if I wanted a yummy gluten free treat it was my only option.

Not anymore!

I was positively thrilled when I received a beautiful gift box from Harvard Sweet Boutique !

This sweet little boutique offered to send me a special package of gluten free treats. Honestly I almost said no. I have found so many gluten free sweets that are really terrible. BUT when I saw the packaging, the Marketing/Merchandising person in me screamed YES!

The gluten free foodie in me is SO happy I said YES! I was sent a sweet sampler of AMAZING gluten free sweets! On their website it would be the:

Build Your Own Customizable Gift
The Gluten Free Cookie and Brownie Gift

I received Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Raspberry Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel Brownies, Peanut Butter Fudge Brownies, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate.

INCREDIBLE

When you choose to send a gift, you can choose what box your treats go in! SO many choices.

And then choose what goes inside! You can do a sampler for $45.00 – a heftier price (but totally worth it) or you can choose one selection to fill the box for $25.00.

Each baked goodie was individually wrapped and marked with a gluten free sticker indicator.

Which is good, because honestly if these hadn’t been marked gluten free…I wouldn’t have believed it! These treats were SO dang good.

The Gluten Free Raspberry Brownie harvard sweets 024
Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies, iced with a thick layer of raspberry buttercream, and then glazed with a sumptuous layer of bittersweet chocolate!

The Gluten Free Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie

The base is a rich, fudgy double chocolate brownie. layered with a creamy peanut butter ganache, and topped off with a heavenly chocolate glaze.

The Gluten Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookie harvard sweets 028
These cookies are rich and buttery without a hint of anything “gluten free”. I loved the edge of bittersweet chocolate to keep the sweetness in balance with the chocolate chunks.

The Gluten Free Double Chocolate Cookie that is so fudgy you would never think it’s gluten free!

Seriously. Look at that fudgy texture! Mmmmmmm.

And last but not least, my personal favorite: Gluten Free Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel Brownie

A layer of rich, fudgy brownie layered with a gooey vanilla caramel, then topped with a deep chocolate ganache. To finish it off, a light dusting of coarse vanilla-scented sea salt. INSANE

Seriously. So good.

And it’s so incredibly decadent, I only needed one bite! Which is lucky too, because I’m trying to make this baby last for a few days at least!

This gift box was filled to the brim with THE BEST gluten free desserts I have had – EVER. That’s right. Five years of being gluten free and these were the best.

Friends, send the Harvard Sweet Boutique gluten free page to your loved ones. Friends, Family…neighbors! And tell them to send you a surprise!
