![]() I have found my new favorite smoothie! I went last week searching for a Papaya because I had read that they were really good for digestion. I couldn't find one anywhere though! I ended up going to the Fresh Market about 45 minutes from home and thankfully, they had some. I think I had only had Papaya one other time and liked it okay. When I cut into this one, I wasn't all that crazy about the smell. It's not like an orange or pineapple that just makes your mouth water when you cut into it. I also thought the seeds looked like fish eggs. Gross! But, I was willing to give it a try and boy am I glad I did. Here is a little information I found in my Dietary Wellness book: " Chymopapain contained in papaya softens tight muscles and is the reason it is the main ingredient in meat tenderizers. Papaya is also good for inflammation, heartburn, ulcers, back pain, and any disorder involving the digestive system." "(Papaya) Breaks down unwanted substances, including uric and toxic acids in the body. Good to add to infant formula to help digestion." Papaya smoothie: 1 cup papaya 1/2 frozen banana 3/4 cup goat yogurt(could use something else) 1 tsp. honey 3 ice cubes Simple and Delicious!! |
