One Thing After Another

Posted Nov 21 2008 1:22pm
Today was starting off to be a great day! And actually it still is. I had a GREAT breakfast this morning, so yummy and just sweet enough to kill my sweet tooth cravings and healthy enough to make me feel good about the possible overkill on goodies that is coming this weekend.

My family has started to roll in, one of my cousins came today with her three little kids. The two older ones are girls and they are impatiently waiting for the Peanut to get off the bus this afternoon. All three of us will meet her at the bus stop. They are so excited!

This morning I went to the store to buy green beans for the weekend. Do you all know how many green beans is in 4 pounds of green beans?? Here is the proof below.. my grandmother is an ANIMAL! I couldn't believe it! Last night she was still running around barking orders, shoving money in my hand with lists of food to buy this morning. I went to the store and bought it all!

Then I went to go inquire about buying a new car for Taste Tester. No people, I am not that rich! I can't afford a brand new car! But we have been talking about trading his car in and we finally found one that we both liked and wanted. So it looks like both of us get new cars together!

My younger sister has been learning how to cook and her first venture into the baking world beyond roll out cookies is a cherry pie. One of my uncles is obsessed with cherry pie and will not come up to Mass unless someone is making cherry pie! Ok, it's not that dramatic, but we make one for him anyway.

Here is the finished product! It looks beautiful! She did a great job!

She thought it looked HORRIBLE because the cherry sort of bubbled up.. but I think it is what makes a pie.. the bubbly crust and bubbling insides. It smells delish anyway- so good job 'lil sis!

My mission for tonight is to make a sweet potato pie and I am slowly working on my pumpkin bread. My aunt loves pumpkin bread so I decided to make some for her to enjoy. YUM!

My cousin brought these little turkey cookies.. aren't they fun looking??? I'm guessing you can veganize these or at least make them Gluten free.. she used Oreos, chocolate frosting, a Reces peanut butter cup, a whopper, and candy corn.. adorable! I almost gobbled them all up! Thankfully, I resisted! Plenty of time for more snacks later!

Well I have to sign off for the time being so I can start making the sweet potato pie! More reporting from the chaos tomorrow!

I did manage a 20 minute workout this morning, it's all I was able to fit in! I'll have to get up early tomorrow to squeeze more in!

Another picture... isn't my nephew a dream??? He is absolutely adorable.. just like the turkey cookies!
