Two years ago I went gluten free because I had been noticing that eating bread made me feel sick and crampy. By the time one year passed, I had started to notice that other symptoms had alleviated or disappeared. Although we have not gotten official diagnosis of celiac, my GI doctor is now thinking I have gluten intolerance. But I no longer need a rheumatologist, my neurologist is down to once a year, and even my mitral valve doctor is tapering down as my condition stabilizes. I am no where near where I would like to be healthwise, but I am much improved since going gluten free. And I have been able to share my story with some people in person who are recently diagnosed celiac and they have felt encouraged.
