At a recent Boulder County Celiacs meeting had Leslie from Its All Good Gluten-Free Patasserie visit. She made soft pretzels and mini pizzas. On the pizzas she demo-ed the new Daiya dairy-free cheese. The cheese had a good taste, but reminded me of something. I couldn’t figure out what it was until someone else suggested that it tasted like buttered popcorn, and said that it was the Brewer’s yeast that gave it that flavor. It wasn’t bad, just different. It melted well on the pizza and was an attractive topping.
The soft pretzels that IAGGFP brought were amazing. I couldn’t believe that she whipped up these fantastic, soft, salty treats with only 2 days notice! I am very impressed
On another visit to the bakery I tried a cinnamon flop cookie. The texture was light but chewy, with enough air to make a little bubble in the middle of the cookie. The flavor was right on the mark; cinnamon but not bitter, just a touch of sweetness.
The most recent treat I’ve had from IAGGFP was a black and white cake cookie. It was made with real ganache and white melted chocolate, and the flavors were fantastic. I can’t say enough about these delicious goodies!
If you are local to Boulder then you must stop by the bakery on (East) Walnut. If you are not local, ask about shipping. www.iaggf.wordpress.com
