Gluten Free New York

Posted Dec 14 2009 12:00am

So, of course I was a bit too preoccupied to make some new posts over my fabulous weekend. But I thought I would share some of my experiences with you all. First, I was starving on the bus ride up to New York and kept complaining to my hunny that I really needed to find some food immediately after we arrived. I was assured that my friend Geoff would have food waiting for us when we got to his place. As I'm sure all the gf people can relate, I was a bit concerned that I would show up and there would be nothing that I could eat. And when my blood sugar gets low, I am not a pleasant person. But to my great surprise I was greeted with a gf pizza from Unos (one of my favs). I stuffed my face and kept a few pieces behind for late night eating. Later that evening we went to a bar called "Dead Poets". It was a fun place with unique drinks and a great atmosphere. When it came time to ordering drinks my friends were all downing Guinness and at that very moment all I really wanted was a perfect pint of beer. I handed off my order to my hunny (a vodka soda with three limes) but to my surprise when he returned he had a bottle of Redbridge with my name on it. The weekend continued on like that, my wonderful boyfriend made sure I had a fabulous gf weekend. And yes, I did get my frozen hot chocolate and went ice skating in Central Park.
