Exciting opportunity to help others!

Posted Jun 02 2009 4:38pm
When I started this blog it was because I could not find a gluten free blog that wasn't centered mostly around cooking and recipes. What I wanted and needed but could not find at the time, was a gluten free lifestyle blog. When I complained about this to a glutenoid friend, she suggested I start my own blog because she considered me the gluten free 'Clark Howard' of Atlanta. At the time I was an Assistant Organizer of the Atlanta GF Dinner Club, which I loved so much that today I'm the Lead Organizer.

Eventually I realized that selling another order of golf shirts would never feel as good as helping people does, so late last year I started a gluten free consulting company, mostly working with local restaurants trying to cater to the gluten free market. That is one thing that the bad economy has helped us with - places who once ignored our market totally are suddenly scrambling to hop on the gluten free gravy train.

My latest gluten free adventure as the Atlanta Gluten Free Examiner on Examiner.com is sort of like icing on the gluten free cake. Though I'm lumped into the Food & Drink category, I'm hoping to offer a lifestyle column of sorts, with plenty of food and restaurant reviews thrown into the mix. I'll strive to find and share the latest and greatest gluten free news out there. I will keep this blog up as there are things that are better suited for a blog than a site like Examiner.com. Still, I hope some of you will check out my Examiner page every once in a while. Though many of you are not in Atlanta, there will be plenty of articles that should interest those outside the area.

Thanks to all of you for sharing part of this crazy gluten free journey with me. The ride is so much easier than it was just three years ago. I hope we all continue to enjoy the ever changing (for the better) journey as we move forward!
