BoSox and Dance Offs

Posted Oct 07 2008 6:29pm
This weekend has been a whirlwind of baseball games and dancing. Oh and a fun birthday party thrown in there too! Friday night started with the usual dance practice party where I met my nemesis in dancing... the Samba Roll!!!! Lord help me - I can't do one! And I did try, but I think I will need a little more intense work to perfect them.

Up next was the Sox game; I'm a die hard fan who has been so busy I haven't had tons of time to watch the games! However, now that they are in the post-season I'm happily staying up late to watch them sweep the series..err.. hopefully sweep the series! Go Sox! Taste Tester and I watched the game on Friday night together- kicking ourselves because we knew we would not make it to Fenway when they rolled in tonight... cross your fingers they go all the way and we can go to Fenway!!

Saturday I did Turbo Jam in the morning. I really really really love that workout! It's fun, doesn't feel like tons of work until it's over and then you just feel... strong and sexy.

Saturday night, I had a birthday party. Now if anyone hasn't been to a Spanish birthday party for little kids, there is something you should know.. The party isn't for the kids- it's for the adults to dance and drink the night away. The kids play with balloons in the corner and chase each other around.

I brought my niece and the Peanut to a one year old's birthday party and like I predicted- lots of boozing and dancing, but very few kid activities. They still had fun because most of the kids there were between the ages of 4 and 8. I had fun too because all I did was DANCE!!! Merengue, bachata, salsa, yahooooie I did it all! It was great! I miss those days of going to random parties and dancing the night away! We didn't make it home until crazy late, but I loved the extra workout I got after two hours of dancing.

Since I have started dancing again I really noticed the midsection firming up a bit. Perhaps this is my key to a flat stomach and Hip Hop Abs be damned...???

Another note.. GO SOX!!!
