As with all recipes, it is fun to add your own twist on the ingredients to make the recipe your own. The standard Chebe recipe calls for the Chebe bread mixture blended together with oil, 1 large egg and water (or milk). It’s as simple as that! I decided to add a couple other items I thought would make it stand out. The smell from the oven was fantastic and the result was even better. They have wonderful flavor, texture and are surprisingly filling. Chebe mixes are currently found at People’s Rx, Whole Foods, HEB and Central Market. I suggest you go buy some today. You will become addicted to their light and fluffy taste.
