My mom has lived in an assisted care facility for the last 2 years, as I worked full time. Now that I am retired (took an early retirement at 50) she is living with me and my husband.
She is still communicative if spoken to, unless she is talking to my dogs. She lightens up when she speaks to them.
Anyway, the last few days she has been wondering why her husband hasn't been home from work. He passed away 9 years ago.
Do I tell her the truth when she looks out the window for him or sets the placemat for his dinner?
Do I just let her wonder and set the place for him at the table?
She has only been with us full time for 3 months, so I am a novice in Alzheimer's World.
