Hi Eternal,
Have you gotten a tongue piercing recently? The clot could be from that. Or you may have poked yourself with a fork.
A salt water rinse is very soothing. Use 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of water. Stir the salt to make sure it dissolves. Swish small mouthfuls this around your mouth and spit out. You can do this several times a day if you want.
Ask your dentist about it at your next regular checkup.
