I believe I have coined the phrase "trading problems." This is simply attempting to fix one problem only to discover your solution created yet another problem. Sometimes these are significant issues - others times, like last weekend they are small but oh so icky! Let me explain.

I'm curled up on the sofa all ready for a night in and a movie. Half way through the movie I hear noises out on the patio. I turn down the TV to listen. Its cats...they are making ridiculous noises. You know what I'm talking about. I turn the volume back up and continue my movie. I still hear the cats. I pause the movie and decide to take matters into my own hands and chase them away. I'm not running a no tell motel for crying out loud! Darting out to the patio in the dark I yell and clap my hands. The cats scatter. "Ah ha" I think to myself and head back to the door. Suddenly, I am very aware I am barefoot and there is a very large slug beneath my foot. Now guess who is scattering? ICKY!

Happy 4th and may you always remember your shoes!

Open flames...

Roasting Marshmallos As the coals from our barbecue burned down, our hosts passed out marshmallows and long roasting forks.

Just then, two fire trucks roared by, sirens blaring, lights flashing. They stopped at a house right down the block.

All twelve of us raced out of the back yard, down the street, where we found the owners of the blazing house standing by helplessly.

They glared at us with looks of disgust.

Suddenly, we realized why... we were all still holding our roasting forks with marshmallows on them.

BBQ Chef...

Barbeque - It's the only type of cooking a "real" man will do. Man_BBQ

When a man volunteers to 'BBQ' the following chain of events are usually put into motion
  1. The woman goes to the store.
  2. The woman fixes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.
  3. The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils, and takes it to the man, who is lounging beside the grill, drink in hand.
  4. The man places the meat on the grill.
  5. The woman goes inside to set the table and checks the vegetables.
  6. The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning.
  7. The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman.
  8. The woman prepares the plates and brings them to the table.
  9. After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
  10. Everyone praises the man and thanks him for his cooking efforts.
  11. The man asks the woman how she enjoyed 'her night off' and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

This Weeks Quote...
"Any holiday that involves barbecuing, alcohol and explosives is a good day in my book!"
